DID YOU KNOW?
Native Americans (American Indian and Alaska Native populations), the population we serve, experience one of the highest per capita rates of homelessness in the United States.
Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders have the highest homelessness rate per capita.
American Indians and Alaska Natives have the second highest rate.
To put this in perspective:
Native Americans make up about 1.5% of the U.S. population, yet they account for roughly 10% of the homeless population nationally.
They are also nearly twice as likely to experience unsheltered homelessness compared to sheltered homelessness, and their homelessness rate increased by about 18% between 2022 and 2023, the largest percentage increase among racial groups.
